Tour Description

The adventure starts in the city of Split at 10 AM

Our Krka Waterfalls Tour starts from the city of Split at 10 am. We will travel directly to the National Park Krka by an air-conditioned luxury van/bus. Krka National Park is one of Croatia’s must-see destinations thanks to its natural beauty – it is just stunningly beautiful.

On our way there you can take time to learn a little bit about the park.

National park Krka

You will discover that National park Krka is one of the Croatian national parks and it is named after the Krka River it surrounds. Including the submerged part of the river, the Krka River is 72.5 km long, making it the 22nd longest river in Croatia. It is the seventh national park in Croatia and was proclaimed a national park in 1985. It is famous for its many waterfalls, including the Skradinski buk waterfall. When scientists think about National Park Krka they think about the exceptionally rich and varied flora and fauna. More than eight hundred species of plants have been identified here, including several endemic Illyrian-Adriatic species. Numerous species of birds (more than 200) make National Park Krka territory among the ornithologically most valuable regions of Europe. The park was primarily established to serve science, culture and education, while tourism activities have also been introduced for its visitors in recent years.

Skradinski buk waterfall

As previously mentioned, Skradinski buk waterfall is the most popular waterfall in the National Park Krka. It is a big natural pool with high waterfalls at one end and cascades at the other. It covers an area of 400 m in length and 100 m in width making it the largest travertine cascade system in Europe. This huge waterfall is just spectacular and the best thing is that you can go swimming in the waterfall. Morning is the best time to take pictures of the falls because there will be fewer people in the water. In the afternoon there are lots of swimmers at the base of the falls. Skradinski Buk will not disappoint you. This area of the park is the most popular. The second most popular area of the park is Roški Slap.

The main walking trail in the park starts from the area near Skradinski buk. It is a good idea to take a map with you although hiking trails are very well kept and very well marked. Along the way, you will find some great views of the different waterfalls in the park.

Roški slap waterfall

It is the other main waterfall attraction of Krka National Park. Around Roški slap there is a walking trail with wonderful views. In both these locations you will take amazing photos and have the best memories of your life.

The island of Visovac

Take a look at pictures of the island of Visovac before you arrive. You will be amazed! It is located in the middle of Visovac Lake in the heart of Krka National Park. A 15th-century Franciscan monastery and Church are located on the island in perfect tranquility. Here you can enjoy the perfect peace and quiet while looking at the valuable library of books and manuscripts.
