Krka National Park 

Krka National Park is named after river Krka that it encloses. It is well-known for its lakes and waterfalls.  It has seven travertine barriers and a unique ecosystem. National Park area has the second highest density of lavender in Europe and therefore the high frequency of wasps and bees in the area. It is situated in the middle of Šibenik-Knin county and it covers 109 square kilometers.

There are many places of interest in Krka National Park. Many footpaths, sightseeing tours and boat trips will capture your attention. Skradinski buk is the most attractive part of the park. It is a massive pool with high waterfalls at one end and cascades at the other. It is considered to be one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Europe. The waterfall itself is absolutely stunning and worth seeing and the water is beautiful. Roški Slap is the second most popular attraction of the Krka National Park. stunning views of the Krka river as it flows through down to the Krka monastery and Skradinski Buk. These waterfalls make a bunch of noise that can’t be matched by anything artificial.

Inside the park is the island of Visovac which was founded during the reign of Louis I of Hungary in 14^th century. Island is home to the Roman Catholic Visovac Monastery founded by the Franciscans in 1445.  The island can be visited by a boat tour from Skradinski buk. In this peaceful natural setting fishermen are casting their lines as you enjoy surrounding views and active waterfall.

Animal farm

Finally, we will head to animal farm visit the animals that Dalmatians have lived with for centuries. You will have a chance to see donkeys – extremely intelligent and easily trained animals. Donkeys can learn to pack, go over obstacles and are great for driving. Almost every farm in Dalmatia for years, even centuries have had at least one donkey. Animal farm has many other animals, too. Like goats, sheeps, chickens and rooster.

In the evening, you will enjoy in traditional Dalmatian cuisine; plenty of vegetables like spinach, potatoes and moderate consumption of meat with one of the key elements – olive oil.

The animals that Dalmatians have lived with for centuries will make this dinner unforgettable.

Itinerary

• Transfer is organized from Split at 2pm at the address of your choice. A luxury Mercedes V class for seven person or Mercedes GLS for six persons will take you to National Park Krka.
• Professional tour guide will show us all major sights in National Park.
• After a tour, we will head to animal farm.
• We will have dinner and finally return to Split.
